Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 1, 2026
Transcribely is designed as a private transcription app for iPhone and iPad. This Privacy Policy explains how Transcribely handles information when you use the app.
Information processed by the app
Transcribely may process audio recordings, imported audio files, transcripts, transcript edits, folders, tags, favorites, archive status, generated summaries, action items, and export files that you create in the app.
Transcription is intended to run on device. Your recordings and transcripts are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share them using iOS sharing features.
Information we collect
Transcribely does not require you to create an account. The app does not sell your data and does not use third-party advertising tracking.
If you purchase premium access, purchase status may be processed by Apple and RevenueCat so the app can unlock paid features, restore purchases, and manage subscription or lifetime entitlement status. Payment details are handled by Apple, not by Transcribely.
Cloud AI and meeting insights
The current MVP is built so meeting summaries and action items can be generated by a local or mock service. If a future version offers optional cloud AI summaries, the app will explain that feature before use and this policy will be updated to describe what transcript content is sent and how it is handled.
How information is used
Information in the app is used to provide recording, importing, transcription, transcript editing, search, organization, insights, export, and purchase-related functionality.
Sharing
Transcribely does not share your recordings or transcripts with advertisers. You may choose to share transcripts, audio, summaries, or exported files through iOS share sheets, cloud storage apps, messaging apps, or other destinations. Those services are controlled by their own privacy policies.
Data retention and deletion
Recordings, transcripts, and related metadata remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. You can delete recordings from within the app. Uninstalling the app may remove locally stored app data from your device.
Children
Transcribely is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support communication, contact us so we can respond appropriately.
Security
We use platform features provided by iOS to store app data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so you should avoid recording or storing information you are not authorized to capture.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Transcribely changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
