1. Who We Are

2. Data We Collect

Rootlock is designed to be private by default. Here is exactly what happens with your data:

• Focus sessions, plants, and block lists — stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
• Screen Time & app blocking — managed entirely through Apple's Screen Time API on your device. We never see which apps you block.
• Notifications — local notifications only. No data is sent to external servers.

3. Subscription & Payment Data (RevenueCat)

To manage subscriptions, we use RevenueCat, a third-party service. When you purchase a subscription, RevenueCat may collect:

• A randomly generated anonymous user identifier
• Your device type, OS version, and country
• Purchase history and subscription status

RevenueCat does not receive your name, Apple ID email, or payment details — those stay with Apple. All payments are processed by Apple. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

• No name, email address, or account registration required
• No advertising identifiers or tracking
• No analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc.)
• No location data
• No data sharing with third parties beyond RevenueCat (subscription processing only)

5. Children's Privacy

Rootlock is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

All app data (sessions, plants, block lists) is stored on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling Rootlock from your device. RevenueCat retains anonymised purchase records as required for financial and legal compliance — contact them directly at revenuecat.com/privacy for data deletion requests.

7. Security

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is no central database to breach. Your data lives on your device and is protected by Apple's built-in security and encryption.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
